Black Gesso Primer has the same characteristics as White Gesso and is applied in the same way. If used as a ground for acrylics, one coat is normally sufficient, but up to three coats may be required for oil colour.

Liquitex Colored Gesso Black is a first-class, black-dyed gesso that is suitable for priming painting surfaces in both acrylic and oil painting. Using pre-dyed gesso is more convenient and neater than coloring the gesso yourself. Priming the painting base black creates wonderful contrasts for the painting and brings out the different shades of white in an unprecedented way. Liquitex Colored Gesso does not yellow, is flexible and does not crack, and is waterproof after drying. Gesso provides an adhesive surface for paint colors on wood, paper, and canvas surfaces. One primer coat is enough.

Use: Use unthinned or thin the gesso max. 25% with water.
